This collection explores the intersection of physical and digital landscapes, creating a shared space where the tangible and virtual co-exist.
The project was inspired by the moment I first witnessed a Bitcoin block form—transactions arranging and rearranging in real time—like an aerial view of a digital city emerging from barren land. That experience sparked a vision: to merge my own aerial photography of human habitations—cities, towns, and farms—with the domain of Bitcoin blocks, or “digital cities”.
To capture the spirit of this intersection, I chose Bitcoin’s iconic orange as the dominant color for the digital space, complemented by vibrant blues and purples to evoke the retro, neon, and playfully nostalgic aesthetic of digital environments. In contrast, I used black and white to characterize the aerial photography, grounding the collection in the timeless reality of the physical world. A transparent overlap of the two realms is both intentional and inevitable.
The result is a collection that invites viewers to reflect on the evolving relationship between humanity, technology, and art—and the spaces they inhabit.
Welcome to Bitmap City Vol. 1.
